Using Ventrilo With World of Warcraft

Is Ventrilo related to World of Warcraft?

Simply put, no. The Ventrilo program is not related to anything inside the World of Warcraft game. You can run Ventrilo anytime you desire, you can run it playing World of Warcraft, and you could just run it and talk with your friends from World of Warcraft. Ventrilo is its completely seperate and indepdent program just like anything else you would run on your computer. Using "vent" in a raid makes for smoother and effective communications between raid leader and raiders.


What do I need to use Ventrilo with World of Warcraft?

1. Microphone and speakers(headset prefered to avoid feedback and echo) connected to your computer.

2. A Ventrilo Server to connect. You will need the server IP, port and password (if there is a password needed to join) of the Ventrilo Server you are joining.(You can either connect to a Ventrilo Server owned by one of your friends or you can purchase a Ventrilo Server.)

3. You will need to have downloaded and installed the Ventrilo Client program to your computer.(The program is free!) Download Ventrilo Client by clicking here.

4. Join a channel in Ventrilo where your friends are talking. (Double Click on the channel to join)

5. Start up your World of Warcraft game as you normaly do but, keep the Ventrilo program running. (you can minimize it if you like) Now you will be able to talk to your friends who are logged onto the same server while you play.
